Morehouse Parish, Louisiana is well-positioned at the Louisiana-Arkansas border on the 4-lane U.S. Hwy. 165 near I-20. The parish offers the location advantages of a rural community adjacent to the Monroe metropolitan labor market area.

Retail areas on the east side of Bastrop offer a variety of large stores that will provide for most of you shopping needs.
In 2013 International Paper donated the Bussey Brake Reservoir to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. Since that time, numerous projects have taken place to return this reservoir to a premier fishing area in Northeast Louisiana. On July 15, 2020 the Bussey Brake Wildlife Management Area opened to the public.
