HIGHWAY/INTERSTATE

U.S. Hwy. 165 runs north-south through Morehouse Parish just 20 miles from Interstate-20. Interstate-20 runs east-west through the southeastern U.S. corridor, from Montgomery, Alabama into Dallas, Texas, providing connections to major U.S. markets. LA Hwy. 425 runs north-south through the parish and provides a 4-lane highway to the metro area. Interstate-69, which currently runs from Texas north into Minnesota, is slated to be extended into Morehouse Parish with connectivity to additional U.S. markets. There are also numerous Louisiana and U.S. highways that provide access to Interstates 10, 40, 75 and 85.
RAILWAY

The A&LM Railroad offers daily switching to KCS and UP railyards in Monroe. Many businesses rely on transporting bulk items via this lengthy railway system.
The Union Pacific main rail line directly serves the agricultural communities in east Morehouse Parish.
PORTS AND NAVIGABLE WATERWAYS

There are several ports that serve northeast Louisiana to accommodate barge and ship traffic. Two shallow draft ports including neighboring 9 ft. draft Ouachita Parish Port on the Ouachita River, and the closest port on the Mississippi River, just east of Morehouse Parish, is the Port of Lake Providence, which has a 12 ft. channel depth. The closest deepwater port is the Port of Greater Baton Rouge on the Mississippi River, 190 miles south of Morehouse Parish.
AIRPORT

The Bastrop Memorial Airport, owned by the city of Bastrop, is adjacent to the Coulter Industrial Park and the Bastrop Technical College Campus. It has two asphalt runways - 4,000 ft. x 100 ft. and 1,220 ft. x 30 m - and provides general services including landing, fuel, hangars and tie-down. The Monroe Regional Airport provides commercial and cargo service for the parish and surrounding region. In addition, there are seven general airports in northeast Louisiana.
