MEDCO holds Annual meeting

The annual Morehouse Economic Development Corporation held it Annual Membership Meeting on September 30, 2020. CEO, Kay King admits that it has been a challenging time to keep everyone safe and provide communication to members. The organization is using Zoom and combined meetings to keep Board Members and membership informed about activities.
Bob Green welcomed the membership. Nita Dunn was nominated and confirmed as a new Board Member for the next fiscal year which begins in October.
The organization presented goals for the year and prioritized marketing of the TODA ONE site (former IP) which has been Certified for redevelopment. Work will also be done this year to identify a variety of sites for industrial and business developments with an emphasis on emerging business sectors.
Board members recognize the importance of promoting a positive community image through the development of website material and other electronic communication. Emphasis will be placed on our existing timber industry, medical initiatives, and agricultural development. CEO, Kay King shared that economic development has shifted rapidly to information-based evaluations by site selectors rather than site visits because of COVID 19. Web sites and electronic presentation are more important than ever.

Louisiana Industrial Development Executives Association (LIDEA) offers classes for training to achieve this designation.
